WINE - THEUNISKRAAL CAPE RIESLING 2013

Better days are coming, it's called Saturday and Sunday.
However in the meantime it's Monday, so I'm allowed to wine a little.
When I pulled the ranger into the driveway I could smell the firewood burning.
Time to braai.....!
Super chilled Theuniskraal Cape Riesling 2013, juicy lamp chops,
boerewors and of course "braai broodjies"

a dear friend gave me some good advice . . . .

See there's always a reason to have wine.

WINE - CATCHPOLE & CO CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2011

So we opened the first bottle last night......and then we opened a second. Really smooth! Very happy with this purchase. 2 down 4 to go, but we'll savor the last 4 bottles for "sharing". For a full review on this wine go to my previous entry here: http://mrooswine.blogspot.com/2015/06/wine-catchpole-co-cabernet-sauvignon.html

Putting in overtime

So I'm putting in some overtime hours at home and this message pops up . . . . .

Ok, ok that's not exactly what it said but just the though that this could have
been the message is good enough reason to logoff and uncork!

If looks could kill

It's Friday..........it's wine time! I aimed for the bottle of Meerlust Rubicon 1996, but when I saw the look on hubby's face I realized I would have to settle for the Robertson Cabernet 2013.
Here's to you and your weekend, may it be a spectacular one!

WINE - VARIOUS

So tonight we may have gone a little overboard. But when you're spending time with
good neighbours and good friends,
times are always good and it calls for good wine. Even if it is more than one bottle.
Anyway......whose counting......!

An empty bottle of stories

WINE - ROODEBERG 2012

So I have a day's leave, doing the "home executive" stint. Washing, cleaning, cooking. Not cut out for this, but hey at the end of the day I can enjoy a good chicken curry and a great bottle of wine.
My dear neighbour, Bev, popped in to say hi and we decided it would be a good time to pop a cork. The cork of none other than a 2012 Roodeberg. Show's you that anytime is a good time for a good bottle of red wine......and a packet of Pop Shots Sweet Chilli.

WINE - SIJNN SYRAH 2011 & SIJNN ROSE 2011

Yet another cozy winter's evening spent in the company of good friends, good wine, good conversation and a fabulous wine. A friend of our's brought along a bottle of red wine. One that I'd not heard of before, neither have I seen it on our local shelves. Definitely a wine I will make an effort to find. No doubt that this will make a perfect addition to our already growing wine collection.

The Red was not the only wine she brought along. She also brought along a Sijnn Rose 2011. I'm not a huge fan of Rose but for those of you that are this is definitely one for your collection.

Do yourself a favour and go visit the Sijnn website. Just to wet your appetite a bit, here is a little information on the vineyard that produces these two fabulous selections.

An exciting new vineyard between the tiny hamlet of Malgas and Cape Infanta at the mouth of the Breede River called Sijnn, by the original Khoisan inhabitants. Perched on a plateau of slate and rolled stones, about 15km from the southern oceans of Africa. At this stage there are no other vineyards within a 40km radius, the closest being those inland around Swellendam and alont the coat of Elim.
