WINE - SIJNN SYRAH 2011 & SIJNN ROSE 2011

Yet another cozy winter's evening spent in the company of good friends, good wine, good conversation and a fabulous wine. A friend of our's brought along a bottle of red wine. One that I'd not heard of before, neither have I seen it on our local shelves. Definitely a wine I will make an effort to find. No doubt that this will make a perfect addition to our already growing wine collection.

The Red was not the only wine she brought along. She also brought along a Sijnn Rose 2011. I'm not a huge fan of Rose but for those of you that are this is definitely one for your collection.

Do yourself a favour and go visit the Sijnn website. Just to wet your appetite a bit, here is a little information on the vineyard that produces these two fabulous selections.

An exciting new vineyard between the tiny hamlet of Malgas and Cape Infanta at the mouth of the Breede River called Sijnn, by the original Khoisan inhabitants. Perched on a plateau of slate and rolled stones, about 15km from the southern oceans of Africa. At this stage there are no other vineyards within a 40km radius, the closest being those inland around Swellendam and alont the coat of Elim.
